First Steps
Starting a social enterprise is a challenge that not everyone will complete, First Steps is designed to help you succeed from the start.
The programme aims to provide you with the opportunity to test your business idea and find out what is needed to make it a reality.
First Steps is a pre-start up business support programme for individuals from Black, Asian, and Minority Ethnic and Refugee (BAMER) communities in London wanting to start a social enterprise. It is managed and delivered by Olmec and funded by Communities and Local Government.
How can we help
First Steps offers a practical approach to exploring and evaluating your social enterprise idea. The programme provides a combination of training and one-to-one support. The training focuses on each preparation stage to be completed before starting up a social enterprise. Individuals completing the training will be eligible for assistance with key elements of the start up process such as company registration*.
The next training programme will start in June 2010 and last six months. If you are interested, please complete a registration form (see links below) and send it back to Olmec by Monday 7 June 2010.
