Black on Board
The Black on Board project offers a free training programme, mentoring and support to assist people from minority ethnic communities achieve places on the boards within housing, education and health sectors. The scheme helps participants to gain the knowledge and skills required to be a part of a voluntary management board.
125 people have been trained in the six sessions that we have run. Over 50% of participants are now serving on the boards or committees.
Black on Board is funded through a grant from Communities and Local Government.
We believe that communities are empowered when they are involved in decisions that affect them.
